THE WIZ WALK
A walking remix of The Wiz, performed by an all-ages cast for an all-ages audience.
The three-hour jaunt through our building and neighborhood covers a world of wonder in less than a mile, and features street performance, poetry, song, dance, and—yes!—a meal at the end.
Performances run July 22 through August 12, 2023, Sat-Sun, 2 PM-5 PM (dinner included) The show begins and ends at Theatre Y at 3611 W Cermak Rd, Chicago, 60623.

Theatre Y invites you to our upcoming production of The Wiz Walk - a meandering performance through the North Lawndale neighborhood and a remix of The Wiz (A reimagining of L. Frank Baum's classic 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz featuring an all African-American cast). Conceived by our Youth Ensemble under the guidance of mentor/performer Marvin Tate, devised by the entire Theatre Y family, and featuring original songs by Composer/Pianist Sharon Udoh, The Wiz Walk is an all ages performance for an all ages crowd!
